Accommodation is in a lovely choice of hotels ranging from resorts to family-run, all of which are near the historical centres. Ask us for full details.

Itineraries can be adjusted to suit your specific requirements.

Your Itinerary

Day 1

DUBROVNIK. We meet you at the airport (set times only) and take you to your hotel (30 mins) in time for dinner in the old town, where you stay for the next three nights.

Day 2

JASENICE AND VELJI DO. On the way to Jasenice, stop first at ancient Epidaurum in Cavtat for a gentle stroll along one of the peninsulas. Then onto the hills to Jasenice where a cobbled path lined with rosemary winds across an open valley dotted with oak trees with Mount Snjeznica (1234m) to your right and Mount Straziste ahead. Then Dubrovnik's mountainous coastline frames the horizon as you descend through meadows bright with crocuses to Velji Do where we'll lunch on lamb and fish cooked in a traditional peka (charcoal oven). Free time this afternoon to enjoy a quick dip in the hotel pool before a guided tour of Dubrovnik and dinner.

Day 3

KOLOCEP ISLAND. Tiny Kolocep Island, networked by mule tracks and without cars, is just 30 mins from Dubrovnik by boat, but it feels like another century. Walking past agaves and prickly pears you will reach Gornje Celo harbour with its painted fishing boats, then continue on through pine forest to discover a ruined Napoleonic fort. Return past houses bright with bougainvillea and pomegranates to admire limestone cliffs buffeted by azure seas. There is free time this afternoon to visit Dubrovnik's medieval ramparts, Renaissance churches and Doges' Palace before dinner in Dubrovnik.

Day 4

MAKARSKA AND BRAC ISLAND. Today head to Brac Island via Ston (the 3 hour transfer includes 10km along the Bosnian coastline) famous for its oysters. A short stroll takes us to Mali Ston where you will have lunch in a local restaurant before continuing to Makarska where you board the 50min ferry to Brac Island. After the ferry, there is a 40 minute drive to Bol, your home for the next two days. Srrive just in time for dinner in a lovely restaurant by the seafront.

Day 5

BLACA MONASTERY. Visit Blaca Bay where you'll learn how monks once exported 70,000 litres of wine a year to Venice and had a Viennese piano hauled up here, before following a coastal path that winds through pine trees to turquoise blue coves where you'll stop for a picnic. Then a last swim on Bol's horseshoe sandy beach before dinner in the old town.

Day 6

BOL - SPLIT - TROGIR. It's a 40 minute drive to Skrip, the oldest village on the island, where you visit the Folk Museum, housed in a 17th century tower built to fend off the Turks. Stroll gently past olive groves and figs to Splitska where you board the ferry (50 mins) to Split for lunch. Then you'll join the guided tour of Split where you visit the UNESCO listed Diocletian Palace, Romanesque Cathedral and old city walls before continuing to Trogir where you'll spend your last two nights.

Day 7

KRKA NATIONAL PARK. Drive to Krka National Park (90 mins) to observe a myriad of lakes and waterfalls. A stony path lined with aleppo pines gently descends to Lake Cikola, then a brief ascent rewards you with views over the park. After a picnic, explore the tiers of ponds bright with yellow water lilies that shimmer below mighty Skradinski waterfall. Then back to Trogir to explore the old town before your final dinner.

Day 8

TROGIR. Today you will be transferred back to the airport (at a set time) for your journey home.
