Trends in travel come and go, but these four trends for families and groups look set to continue for the next couple of years.
1. Multi-Generational Travel. More and more families are realising that taking the grandparents on holiday with them means more quality couple time on the holiday. It’s also a great way to create lasting memories for the extended family. Celebrating milestones such as anniversaries, birthdays and graduations as a group has become increasingly popular. Popular destinations for this type of travel are Bali, Hawaii and cruising, particularly in the South Pacific and New Zealand.
2. Glamping. A great way for a group or family to enjoy the great outdoors, without having to forgo any luxuries.
3. Sky Nannies. Families are more often choosing an airline on whether or not they offer a Sky Nanny. The concept was originally introduced by Etihad Airways in 2013, but other airlines are starting to see how they can attract more passengers by offering this service.
4. Cruising. The popularity of this form of holiday hasn’t abated, and with cruise ships becoming even more like a theme park, 2018 will be another big year for family and group cruising.
